About Pilates
The Pilates exercise system is renowned for
producing lean, lithe physiques since its inception in the 1920's by
Joseph Pilates.
It is a completely non-impact method that integrates
the modern fitness elements of postural alignment, injury prevention,
simultaneous muscular stretching and strengthening, correct breathing
and understanding the body and mind connection. Pilates is designed to
develop strength in the deep abdominal and back muscles, thus
stabilizing the spine and improving postural alignment.
