Ami Ipapo

Ami relocated to San Diego from New York City, where she worked as a
professional dancer and aerialist for the past 10 years, most notably with the extreme action company, STREB. She received a BFA in Dance Performance from East Carolina University in 2001 and Pilates mat and apparatus certifications through the Kane School of Core Integration and the Movement Salon in 2003.

Her teaching style is a contemporary approach to the classical Method, always with an emphasis on form, function and fun. In 2006 Ami became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has since furthered her education with TRX Suspension Training, Muscle Activation Techniques, KettleBell Concepts, prenatal fitness, GYROKINESIS® and anatomy studies with Irene Dowd.

She is currently the codirector of [the] movement initiative, an emerging southern California dance and fitness collective. It is with curiosity and intention that Ami continues to translate her love of movement to others, and to seek new challenges of her own.

Mardy Gilmour

Hear more about Mardy's experience by clicking HERE.

Mardy is a native San Diegan, who took a “free trial” Pilates class at the gym seven years ago. She was hooked after just one session.  Mardy has been a dedicated student of Pilates ever since, and in 2009 decided to turn her enthusiasm for Pilates into a career in teaching.  She completed the instructor certification program at Kore Pilates.

Building strength, increasing mobility and maintaining flexibility are crucial to remaining active and vibrant. Mardy strongly feels that Pilates is a pathway to discovering how much potential for movement your body can have, and guiding her clients in realizing their potential is one of her biggest rewards as an instructor.

Mardy has successfully completed her second certification with SSFS and currently seeing clients where the studio is operating in Solana Beach.

When Mardy isn’t working with clients, you will find her with some of her best friends….a number of dogs
that she rescues and fosters!
